Mission O2 Plant
Sewa International recognized the massive requirement of oxygenation across the nation during the second wave of Covid-19 and decided to set up over 35 Oxygen Plants Across the geographical area of India.
Our focus will be mainly on the rural and tribal communities and 2-tier, 3-tier towns and cities and as the people who fall under these umbrellas suffer the most in times like the Covid-19 pandemic due to a lack of awareness and resources.
What is an Oxygen Plant?
An Oxygen Plant is a technology that purifies and segregates upto 96% of the oxygen present in the air which can further be used for various health purposes.
Each Oxygen plant saves 20,000-40,000 lives. Surplus Oxygen can be further used to fill up cylinders to be circulated further, which were highly demanded during the second wave of Covid-19.
The technology that Sewa International has decided to work with is the Pressure Swing Absorption or the PSA plants. This is the most cost-effective oxygen generation technology in terms of CAPEX and OPEX. Only operative costs in the normal course are the compressor maintenance and zeolite replacement every few years. PSA plants can be used for oxygen generation up to 1000 Nm3 /hr.
Long term impact
Oxygen is an essential part of the healthcare system. The units in the health system that use oxygen include:
With the upsurge in air pollution in India which leads to multiple respiratory diseases, oxygen plants won’t just be useful for the relief and rehabilitation of Covid-19 patients, but also millions of patients with other diseases. An oxygen plant is a much-valued asset for society at large.
